John Philip Sousa short biography

An American composer, conductor and the creator of the American national anthem, John Philip Sousa was mainly recognized  for his military marches. Sosa was called ‘The March King.’ In 1892, Sousa established his own band that was immediately successful and toured widely. In 1900, Sousa and his band performed at the Paris Exposition. Sousa’s radio performance in 1929 was a smashing hit.
