Bohuslav Martinu short biography

An important Bohemian composer, Bohuslav Martinu studied at the Prague Conservatory. Before moving to Paris in 1923, Martinu worked as a violinist in the local orchestra. In 1940,  Koussevitzky invited Martinu to visit the USA and commissioned a few of his works that lead to Martinu’s settlement in the USA. Martinu spent his last years in Switzerland.
