Percy Aldridge Grainger short biography

An outstanding composer, arranger, collector of folk music, and educator, Percy Aldridge Grainger began music studies with his mother, and later with Louis Pabst. Grainger was a student the Hochschule in Frankfurt. In 1901, Grainger settled in London. Grainger was well received as outstanding but eccentric pianist. Grainger was admired by Grieg and Delius. In addition to be an acclaimed pianist, Grainger was regarded a world authority for national and folk styles. In 1914, Grainger settled in New York where he was considered one of the most distinguished musicians and pedagogues.
